First ever OJCT Major Event – The Stu Sells Junior Tankard Starts Tonight

  The first ever OJCT Major event will start tonight at the High Park Club in Toronto at 8:00 PM. Featuring top ranked men’s and women’s teams from Ontario and the United States, the 3rd annual Stu Sells Junior Tankard features an exciting new, triple knockout format and some of the best junior curlers in the country.   Play continues through the entire weekend with the Championship Finals at 2:30 PM on Sunday. Admission is free so why not spend part of this beautiful summer weekend on the patio at the High Park Club and enjoy some very hot curling action.  Come Saturday and enjoy the Stu Sells Supports Foundation party with some great live entertainment not to be missed. Teams Sutherland and Marin lead the way at Carleton Heights

The 2017 Carleton Heights U21 Bonspiel has successfully concluded for another year with a local favourite and a neighbour from the east taking the championships. In the women’s event, the local team skipped by Sierra Sutherland opened the season in style with six wins and no losses taking the finals from another local Ottawa team, Team Belliveau.  A big three end sixth end created a lead that Team Sutherland was able to hold on to for the victory. In the men’s event, Team Marin from New Brunswick was able score a couple of twos in an equally close match to secure a victory against Team Bowden from Kingston.   Congratulation to the team from Saint John who comes out on top from a tightly contested round robin and playoffs with five victories and just one defeat.   Final results and points for the event are being tabulated and will posted shortly.  The overall placing for the events were: Men 1.
