Teams Hall and Armstrong will be representing Ontario at the 2017 Canadian U21 Championships. Team Hall ran team Scott out of rocks in the 10th end for the victory. The key shot of the game came in the 6th end with Hall having hammer, but facing 2 team Scott counters on his last, in addition to a bunch of rocks around the 4 foot. Skip Matt Hall threw a takeout and ended up reshuffling the stones to avoid the steal and score 1.

The women’s final was a back and forth affair between teams Wallingford and Armstrong. On her last shot, skip Hailey Armstrong had to decide between throwing a draw for 2 to force an extra, or a tricky tap and stick to remove team Wallingford’s second shot and win the game. She chose the later and great team execution on the shot of the game led to the win.

Well done to teams Scott and Wallingford for awesome performances throughout the week and in the finals. As well, a shout out to the other teams who made playoffs: Team Hahn (men’s semi-finalist), Team Auld (women’s semi-finalist), Teams Murphy and Brandwood (women’s tie-breakers).

Congratulations and best of luck at Nationals to our Ontario Champions:
