OCA U21 Provincial Qualifiers Set

OCA U21 Qualifiers have now been set as teams compete in three locations across the province for the first six spots available in this year Pepsi U21 Provincials at the Annandale Golf and Curling Club. Starting to the east, both men’s and women’s tour leaders teams Wallingford and Hall will lead their respective fields at the Brockville Golf and Curling Club in Qualifier A.  Is a return visit to Provincials in the cards for both of the Tours #1 teams? The Welland Curling Club will host the final C qualifier with the largest number of entrants in both genders.  The women’s field of eight is led by women’s numbers 3 & 4, teams Rozon and Jewer while the men’s field of seven will include top ten teams, Marshall and Twining. Watch all of the scores as they are posted on the OCA website or through the link on the OJCT website. Weekly Top Ten and Rankings Update

As we head into the last two events (OCA Qualifiers and Challenge Round) in the 2017-18 U21 points accumulation year, the U21 Men’s and Women’s rankings and top ten have been updated after the most recent event, the KW Junior Classic. With three victories on the OJCT Tour this year including two majors and solid performances including one victory in two WCT men’s events, Team Hall has established a nearly insurmountable lead atop the men’s leaderboard.  Teams Horgan and Willsey remain in the top three and the only other two teams to crack the 1,000 point level while solid performances throughout the year by teams Marshall and Richard move them to round out the top five.   In the women’s U21 standings, Team Wallingford continues to have a solid lead but teams Little and Rozon have switched positions with Little edging ahead of Rozon for the second spot.   Teams Jewer and Smith/Brunton remain in the top five. For the U18 standings, both the men and women remain virtually unchanged....
