The 2017 Carleton Heights U21 Bonspiel has successfully concluded for another year with a local favourite and a neighbour from the east taking the championships.

In the women’s event, the local team skipped by Sierra Sutherland opened the season in style with six wins and no losses taking the finals from another local Ottawa team, Team Belliveau.  A big three end sixth end created a lead that Team Sutherland was able to hold on to for the victory.

In the men’s event, Team Marin from New Brunswick was able score a couple of twos in an equally close match to secure a victory against Team Bowden from Kingston.   Congratulation to the team from Saint John who comes out on top from a tightly contested round robin and playoffs with five victories and just one defeat.

Final results and points for the event are being tabulated and will posted shortly.  The overall placing for the events were:

1. Marin
2. Bowden
