Stu Sells Junior Tankard
We are pleased to announce that Stu Sells Simple Real Estate, in partnership with the High Park Club, have created the Stu Sells Junior Tankard, an early season, elite-level junior cash bonspiel designed to allow competitors from across Ontario and beyond to get valuable games and high level competition early in the junior season. This event will have cash prizes for all event winners and two special prizes for the main event winner in both the men's and women's events.
Running from September 18 -20, 2015 at the historic High Park Curling Club in west Toronto, twelve mens and twelve ladies teams are anticipated to participate in two six team pools for each gender. Each team will have five pool games and one bye over the weekend play that commences each day at 8:00 AM. There will be six draws each on Friday and Saturday leading to six event finals which will take place on Sunday.
What makes this event extra special is the relationship the Stu Sells Junior Tankard will have with the Stu Sells Tankard events in Oakville and Toronto (High Park). Each main event winning team will be invited to play in the Stu Sells Tankard at High Park running October 9 -12, 2015 with their entry fees paid by Stu Sells Supports. As well, each team will be invited to an on-ice practice session Thursday, October 8 prior to the event with one or more of the premier curlers attending the event plus have an opportunity to meet with them afterwards to learn more about curling on the competitive circuit.
Stu Sells Supports is a program designed to help young and upcoming teams afford to play in curling tournaments across Canada. It provides an opportunity to compete against the top teams, gain valuable experience and sportsmanship.
To top it all off and in true High Park Club style on Friday and Saturday night, the High Park Club upper lounge will be turned into a place for curlers, coaches and their families and fans to socialize. Live music and great food will be available to allow teams and supporters to be together before or after their late aftrnoon and evening draws. There will also be activities on Friday and Saturday to bring awareness to and support the Stu Sells Supports Foundation and the junior program of the High Park Club.
