The Ontario Junior Curling Tour partners with the newly formed World Curling Tour

TORONTO, Ontario – June 29, 2017 – The Ontario Junior Curling Tour (OJCT) is excited to announce, in conjunction with the changes outlined in the recent merger of World Curling Tour (WCT) and Curling Champions Tour (CCT), that the OJCT will partner with the World Curling Tour as part of its strategy as a key point of presence for junior curling on a global scale.

Through this partnership, events that are part of the OJCT annual event calendar will now become part of those listed on the new World Curling Tour website and be an important part of a much larger national and global scope to competitive curling opportunities at the junior level.  OJCT events now join events in British Columbia, Alberta and European Junior Tour events in countries like Sweden, Norway, Switzerland and Scotland among others.

“The OJCT in Ontario represents a diverse range of competitive events for the developing junior teams and many of these events welcome and look forward to participants from outside of Ontario”, said Perry Marshall, Chairperson of the Ontario Junior Curling Tour. “By increasing the awareness of our events to the broader curling community worldwide, we hope that this extra exposure will be attractive to other junior curlers around the world who may be interested in following or participating in one of the largest and most established junior tours in the world.”

“The World Curling Tour has been looking at juniors for some time and to bring the events together under one umbrella will help to offer more opportunities for teams and events as we expand into new markets” said WCT’s Gerry Guerts.  “The relationship was a natural fit as CurlingZone has built a relationship with many of the Junior tours through scoring support and this should open new doors to exposure for the events added to the tour”
