The three U18 provincial qualifiers concluded Sunday, with 12 of the 16 provincial teams decided. The “A” qualifier took place at Brockville Golf & Country Club, with team Deschenes claiming the girl’s A birth, and team Vivier claiming the girl’s B birth. On the boy’s side, team McNamara won the A birth, and team Inglis won the B birth.
Richmond Hill curling club hosted the “B” qualifier, with team S.Johnston winning the girl’s A side, and team Belliveau claiming the B side. Team Leung won the boy’s A side, and team J.Jones claimed the B side.
The girl’s “C” qualifier took place at the Wingham curling club, where team C.Johnston won the A side, and team Steele claimed the B side. The boy’s “C” qualifier at the Brant curling club saw team Goves win the A side, and team Niepage claimed the B side.
Those 12 teams advance to the U18 provincials, March 9-13 at the Paris curling club. They will be joined by the 4 teams who advance through the U18 challenge round next weekend. The girl’s last chance event will take place at the Orangeville curling club, while the boy’s event will be hosted by the Huntsville curling club.
